Blotters on chicagocrime.org
I've added another data source to chicagocrime.org. Thanks to help from the Chicago Journal newspaper, the site now displays synopses of selected crimes.
The new blotter page lists all crimes that have synopses, and each crime that has a synopsis will display it on its crime page (example). There's also an RSS feed for the blotters.
If I were the type to coin words, I'd call it a multimashup.

Video profile at NetSquared
A couple of weeks ago I attended Mashup Camp and had the chance to talk about both Post Remix (our mashup efforts at washingtonpost.com) and my chicagocrime.org side project, one of the original Google Maps mashups.
At camp, the folks at NetSquared filmed me doing an overview of chicagocrime.org. They've just posted the video profile.
